Seagrass critter i.d.

I know these are the hardest things to do, but I collected some seaweed from the jetties today and when I brought it home and put it in a tub, all sorts of worms or something came crawling out. They look kind of like preying mantis, but not sure what they are. Here's a shot of them, hopefully diagnostic enough to give at least some idea. Not the shapes that are similar in the bottom.

i think they might be an amphipod species of some sort not sure though.

Those belong to a subgroup of amphipods known as caprellid amphipods. The common name is skeleton shrimp.
