Seahorses usually do not fare well in reef tank conditions (ie: water flow, temperature, tankmates, etc). It is much better to set up a seperate tank for seahorses.

im thinking of setting up a 65g S.H tank in the future.just 2pairs and some pipefish with some tonga and fiji L.R.Will some macro algaes hurt them?,cause i would really like some color.and is 2-pairs to much for a 65g?What type are most hardy, and colorful?

Seahorses in a reef tank is usually not a good idea. Too many stinging things, too much water flow...

cubanheat1. a 65 gallon would be a great size for a seahorse tank. No problem adding algaes of all sorts. Until today, my seahorse tank was 90% full of caulerpa. Horses didn't seem to mind. I finally got around to pruning today. :p
