Seahorse Fry

What else will seahorse fry eat besides BBS? Are there any frozen foods or non living foods they will eat? This is my first attempt at raising fry. Thanks.

Sorry, newborn seahorse fry will only eat live foods. Depending on the species, either newly hatched bbs or copepods.

Too late to edit :( grrrr. I mispoke.... make that newly hatched bbs or rotifers for a first food, depending on the species.

I have had some luck having DT's in the tank when they are newly born. Can't say that they ate it, reidi fry are so small, but it did seem to help.

ok, they need to start on smaller food than bbs: rotifers. I only know this cause I have reidi/kuda horses (hard to tell..) so, I don't remember where to get a roti culture... but its possible. they live in greenwater.

some people say you NEED a kreisel (sp?) type tank for these species-they don't hitch at birth and are tiny. IMO I'll just be using a ten gallon for mine when they come... they are supposed 'air snickers' so???? but ya need to keep some flow on them from an airstone... a little more difficult.
