seahorse tank

I am probably not the best person to answer this because I am just starting this journey myself, but I feel bad that you have no responses.

There is no perfect list of equipment for any tank really. Each system is quite different and most are successful.

I have noticed that a skimmer seems to be a common suggestion. Ponies need clean water and a skimmer helps with food that the horses miss.

I have seen UV recommended several times. I assume this is because of parisites but I am not sure.

Flow is important but seahorses need specialized flow. I have seen 10x-20x tank volume in flow. The main thing I have read is to diffuse the flow with spray bars and such so it isn't to strong in any one place. Korilia nano's seem to be a popular choice.

I hop this helps. Maybe if you are a bit more specific in your questions you will get more answers. Best of luck!

There are a 101 ways to setup a tank, all of them good. I have gone from nothing but a tank and an airline (really complete setup), to a tank with a sump, refugium, protein skimmer, closed loop, auto dosing devices, chiller, HQI's. Kind of the whole gambit.

To know what equipment you need, we would need to know what you want to do.

Is it going to be a seahorse only tank with no other fish or plants? Do you want a planted seahorse tank? Are you looking for more of a reef tank were seahorses will be comfortable in? Do you want all modern and sleek with just a tank, a huge hitch, and seahorses, nothing else?
