Sealing Acrylic Sump Hole?

I drilled my Ex. Wet/Dry now sump yesterday to facilitate a float valve hooked to my Ro/Di reservoir for the purpose of auto top off. Unfortunately, I miss judged where to place it and would prefer to have it about 6" higher than it is as I want to use a section for are refug. and want more water volume.

Anyone know how I could seal the hole I originally drilled to be water tight?

It's close to a 1/2" hole, I guess I could look into some sort of "fitting" to take the place and cap it off, but I was thinking maybe some type of silicon sealant or something?

I would use the scrap and glue it over the hole, if you don't have any scrap, you could possible tape it to 1/4 inch pipe thread and then screw in a plug.

I second that. Best way is to drill it and tap it, then plug it with a plastic plug. You can use 1/4" pipe tap if the hole is not any larger than 1/2" dia.

You could also fill hole with slicon and sandwich a bit of scrap acrylic on each side of hole. Will work in a pinch as a non permanent fix.
