Holy Patooty!
The second half of the package was supposed to arrive at 5:30pm MST at Southwest Air Cargo. Our family went out for an early dinner prior to going to the airport, but the service at the restaurant really, umm, sucked, so we weren't able to get to the airport until about 6:45pm.
Well, we got home with 4 boxes (3 regular size, 1 large); set a tarp out on the floor, and started unpacking. The stuff is so fresh and so alive, you almost feel you need to sick Gloria Allred on it!
When we set the rock out on the tarp, an octopus crawled out of one of the rocks, and a spaghetti worm eviscerated itself from another rock! I said, "the octopus is bad; we've got to give it away." My wife said, "we've got to keep it!" So, the 3 gallon hermit crab tank became a nano for an octopus. (Luckily, I had a spare 50W heater; but I'm way short on powerheads). The one red emerald who crawled out of the rocks is an octopus companion for now (until he becomes lunch). Richard selected a killer large piece (hernia city; Landlord, you saw that piece) with what looks like a staghorn coral on it, and several chunks with Siderastrea radians colonies.
We spent until past 11pm unpacking, stacking, acclimating, etc. Tonight, I've got to read up on octopus care to deal with it for the spouse (I know they're short-lived, but we're responsible for it now).
Extras which were included were two gorgonians, an unidentified pink-tipped anemone, and an unidentified mushroom coral.
I didn't bother counting the hermits & snails (and frankly, I don't care :bum: ) I'll be spending all night staring at the tank!
I'm attaching one picture to whet y'all's appetite.
Richard, you won't see this message until you get back; I hope you have a great time on your vacation!
