Has anyone ever seen a seio 1100 fault out, smoke came from my aquarium this morning and I opened the canopy to look and it look as everything was fine and then I saw smoke rise from the water from the seio.

ouch. what year was it made in?. I think alot of the older seios had problems. The only thing i hear bad about the newer seios is that they stop working some times.

Im not sure what year it was made but the only problems I ever had before is the usual not wanting to restart after being plugged back in.

yeah thats the common prob, not starting after you plug back in. This would be the first time ( for me anways ) that ive heard of a newer Seio smoking. Sorry to hear that bud.

That sucks. I won't ever own a non-prop circulation powerhead ever again now that I've used the MJ mods for a couple of months. The MJ mods rock. Also, someone pointed me towards the swirler steins for mounting them. I set up two MJ mods on two swirler steins for a little more than $100.

I agree completely.

I'm just really surprised about this, never heard of a SEIO burning out.

Then again, I've seen Maxis do it, and all pumps eventually fail, so unless we see more, I wouldnt worry about it.
