Serial cable for AC2

What is the computer connection for the 8-pin serial connection on the AC2? 8-pin mini din to USB? 8-pin mini din to DB9 connector?

The cable on Neptune's website doesn't offer much of a description

My desktop nor laptop have an 8-pin mini din connector. Can't find a suitable cable on newegg.com

EDIT: Found elsewhere on their site that it's mini din to DB9 connector. What do you guys do when your computer doesn't have a DB9 connection (which I think anything made in the last 10 years doesn't...)? Does a simple DB9 to USB adapter , connected to the 8-pin cable , work?

You need a USB-serial adapter like this. They have a DB9 connector, which you will connect the AC2 cable to.

If you have 32-bit Windows, any adapter should be fine. If you have 64-bit Windows, verify that the listed specs or the adapter packaging states compatibility with 64-bit Windows. You'll find that the models with better/newer chipsets and 64-bit drivers do cost more.

That's what I thought. Thanks.

Hmmm. Desktop has Win 7 64-bit.... but my laptop still has XP 32-bit on it. :)
