Seting up a frag tank - Questions

I have one with the same dimensions and use a 250 DE pendant on it. The middle is fine for high ligh SPS but the edges are to dim. So I added some LED and its better.

So in short ....no, not too much, but maybe to little.

Wow. 250 watts over 6" of water? Gish, thats not to much? Thats why I was leaning towards a 150 HQI.

I had a 150 watt Phoenix 14K hqi over my frag area until about a month ago under the stand of my old tank and it worked perfectly. The pendant was 10 inches over the water surface and the frag rack surface had 6 inches of water over it. I don't think I will put it back under my new tank with the same type of setup though because of the heat. I will be using LEDs this time.

Pretty cool Scott. I like the set up. If you were to go LED what would you use? I like the fact I can get a 150 w HQI set up for about 120 :) O can get a 120w LED set up on ebay for around 170. Do you think 120w led is to much par?
