my wife really wants a pair of horses. she only wants 2 and would prefer to get small ones. i have seen the dwarf horses and was thinking about them. anyhow i have a few questions about the tank.

1. what is the smallest size tank i can keep a pair of dwarfs in?
2. how small do the dwarfs end up getting?
3. i know temps are a concern, but what is the highest temp the tank can stay at without a problem?

thanks all

Dwarfs (h. zosterae) are actually very small (1 inch) and can be kept in small tanks (5 gallons).

For standard seahorses (reidi, erectus, kuda, etc, etc) you will want about 30 gallons for a pair.

As far as the temperature, some say to never go above 74 degrees for bacterial reasons.

thanks for the info. i was considering putting them in a 24g aquapod but i also was thinking about a 29g with half of it being a refugium for food reasons. got alot more reading to do, thanks again for the info
