Settling and Water Storage Tanks

I used tanks from this location quite often, and you can see some in action in my gallery.

www.tank-depot.com

People ALWAYS would ask where I acquired them, so I figured they would be of use.

Browsing the site, I think I am going to work one of these into my next setup after my drain before my sump so detritus can settle to the bottom and be physically removed through water changes.
They even have little 5 gallon versions for smaller system application possibilities.

I like the tanks and especially the ones you have in your gallery pic.

I am currently setting up a 180 and just so happens I am in the beginning stages of planning a storage tank system for top-off and water changes. I really like the tanks they have, better then the rubbermade garbage can thing. by the looks of your gallery pics I have a similar layout in my fish room with plenty of space.
If you could please share more info I as to the plumbing and design I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks !!

It's basically 2 of the 55 gallon (18x18x48) tanks side by side on top of a small rack from Lowes ( 36 x 18 x adjustable height ).

This setup pictured has two pumps on it.
One was for SW mixing.
The other was for Kalk mixing. But never used as such... Only freshwater storage.

In my garage, only one was plumbed on the side for SW mixing.
The other for fresh.

R/O was plumbed across the garage ceiling.
You will have to go to my nanoreef.com gallery to see the garage picture more clearly.
Apparently reefcentral doesn't allow linking to NR.com gallery photos.
Same username

**edit** this whole not allowing to type NR . com or na no - re ef .com this is pretty lame and immature.
I wonder if it applies to other reef sites.

I really like that setup and how compact and clean it looks. Thank you very much for the reply and info and that helps. I think that is what I want to do for my setup. This is the pic I am talking about

And I checked the website for those storage tanks identical to what you have and the only ones I could find were these, but they didnt look the same. Are these the same tanks you have ? Thanks

That is the tank picture I was referring to. Thank you.

Yes those are the same ones I used.
When I purchased them, they came with female threaded bulkheads at the bottom for EZ spigot installation.
The hole at the top is large enough to go shoulder deep inside.

Great. Even better I noticed they ship from IA so I might be able to pick them up and save shipping.

Great setup and thanks again
