Shameless plug

Hey local reefers,

Just want to put in a shameless plug for treasures from the sea in Mechanicsburg on Trindle Road http://www.treasuresfromthesea.org/

Stopped in last night and bought a nice LPS coral and a Coral Beauty.

The owner said business was a little slow so I want to encourage all local reefers to stop in and from time to time and support a local reef shop.

Cheers!

I should have added to the original post "unless you are looking for mushroom rock to start your own colony, then talk to me first"':D'

And yet another shameless plug ':eek1:'

I've been meaning to get up there......maybe tomorrow.:D Do they have any cured live rock? is it any good?

Joe

All the Live Rock is down stairs. I didnt remember seeing SPS but I wasnt looking for any so she could have some there. The prices are a little higher than TFP. For me its only a 15min drive where as TFP its 45min so its not too bad

I called one day and asked her if she had any sps and she told me i would have to come in and see for myself. I wouldnt mind but im in lebanon so the drive is alittle long for me to come in and find out, so if anyone knows if she is selling sps let me know thats all im looking for.

No SPS's that I have seen, yes the web site is not much but it is good for an address and a phone number. They don't seam to be to interested in e-commerce. There is good and bad about the store IMO but the original reason for this post was to let people who may not know the store is there and if you get some time to stop in.

It is nice to have a local saltwater shop to browse through and a source for those items you may have a quick need for. If something looks good to you then support a local fish store.

I just got back from Treasures From the Sea. I think the quality of the livestock is better than TFP. Trish seems nice, too. I bought a few things. No SPS that I saw.

Joe

Haven't been there in about a year, but it she has a few nice LPS and some softies. Nothing really special, but all looked healthy and the prices weren't too bad.

The only negative is I think it is a bit hot and humid for the livestock, well, especially the pygmy seahorses. I thought it was going to rain the one time I was in :) . But, their fish do look very healthy...and I'm willing to cut a lot of slack to a mom and pop store that tries hard. You guys might see some of my anemones and clownfish there in the future, although they are not that interested in ocellaris.

If it's shameless plug time, this isn't for business, but to say that a store (Dave's Zoo) on Derry St. in Harrisburg is for sale...it has potential as a reef store but right now it is a hodge podge of everything (SW,FW,Reptile...).
