Shaping acrylic?

Does anyone here know how to shape acrylic? I've thought of some fun things I could do, but I don't know whether or not it's better to shape acrylic by slightly melting it and bending it, or if I should cut it and piece it together.

Mostly the ideas come from building overflows, baffles, and such.

Just depends on what tools and equipment you have, as well as your skill set. For me with the tools and skills I have cuting and glueing is a lot easier.
