My nieces hand had sharpie highlighter on it and I noticed she stuck her hand in my saltwater fish tank. It started going everywhere in there and some started eating it. Is it safe could it kill them?:,(
Sharpies are non-toxic when dry, but could have some harmful chemicals in before hand.
I'm going to say you might want to do a quick water change if possible. Perhaps some carbon may be in order. But I'm not an expert for trying to remove chemicals from a tank by any means.
You might get a better answer in a different forum. Perhaps the "New to the Hobby" section?
The good news besides the obvious (possible) slight water pigmentation is there isn't much in a Sharpie chemically besides alcohol and die so carbon should easily do the trick.
