Has anyone tried to ship frags from DE??

Just wondering how you went about doing it, is there are any pitfalls to watch out for, good local shipping material sippliers, etc...

Ive read mixed reviews about good shipping techniques as well as problems dealing with USPS and UPS...
Thanks... Eric

Eric,

I generally try to use the self serv computer and drop-off box at the post office. Triple ziplock bag everything, and secure inside samll cardboard box w/ paper and insulation (I keep extra sheets of the styrofoam wall insulation laying around).

The important part about shipping with USPS is not to click "YES" to the question about live items or water. From what I understand if you do it A). Costs more and B). They make you use their "special" wax coated box.

BTW - Thanks for bringing the cheato last night- sorry i wasn't able to make the meeting.

I've shipped tons of frags out of DE when I lived there. I used to always use fish bags secured inside of thermoses. Good stable temps as well as sturdy when shipped that way. I would buy the thermoses at the flea market at the New Castle Farmer's Market or at Goodwill. I could usually get them for a dollar a piece. I just packed everything up and took them to the counter to send them USPS Priority or Express. I agree about not saying anything about liquids. Plus with the thermos, unless they crush it, it wouldn't leak anyway.
