Shipping Zoas

I know the best way to send zoas long distances is by overnight delivery, but has anyone tried shipping them by priority mail. Paying for overnight delivery for a $5-10 frag seems silly. I've sent/received star polyps this way without a problem. Could it be done with zoas?

this time of year and your location it can be tough on shipping priority. IMHO
I have shipped priority USPS when the weather was 60-80 with no problems. If you do you would need an insulated box or a thermos with a heat pack. The heat pack is another issue because the 48-60hr ones get everything too hot and they sometimes melt the frag. good luck

sorry to high jack this thread but, Im also thinking about shipping with usps priority, what heat packs do you recommend, I was looking around and saw that the 40hr heat packs only reach a max temp of 100F, it looked to me that these were the best for a 2 maybe three day shipment in colder weather?

What do you recommend?

I've used those ziploc screwtop containers they sell at the grocery store with a 24hr heatpack, wrapped in newspaper and shiped USPS Priority Mail. Even coming out of MN all winter I'm yet to have a fatality. (Probably used this method two or three dozen times).

Good to know. I think I might mail a few to myself to see how they hold up. What type of heat pack do you use? Regular handwarmers?

Id go with the 40 hr ones. Dont put them next to the bag though. Tape them to the lid wrapped in newspaper on tucked in an open envelope
