Shopping around for ro units

Go with the bulk reef suppy one, not only are the canisters clear the di stage ia vertical so it will work much better.

Be sure that what ever unit you get it has or buy a tds meter and a pressure guage, those 2 things are nessasary to make sure the unit is working properly and when to change the filters.

Another thing to concider is a unit with a 75gpd membrane will give you best results. I use the buckeye hydro max ro membrane and am very pleased with it, they are eash tested individually to make sure they give you at lwast 98% rejection rate

I did the eBay one to begin with, and it worked well getting me started. I then added the di stage from brs. After that I just used good filters for replacements. The inline is a great investment either way, so def get that for it. You can't beat the price for the eBay units.

Brs, no question. It's 10% off today too! I went the 6 stage universal plus system that does 150 gal/day.

Check out buckeye hydro, air water and ice, and the filter guys. They are all sponsors here and all have good filters.

After years of fighting with cheap RO di units I bought the 6 stage water saver 150gpd universal BRS unit.... Yes, their most expensive one.

I could not be happier and will never look back again.

Just curious why everyone seems to get hung up on the clear canisters? Other than the di stage I don't see an advantage over white canisters.

What good does a clear canister have for a di stage? You use the tds meter to check your di stage anyway even if its a color changeing. The sediment is the biggest one you want clear.

Color changeing resin is just an idicator, you still want to use the tds meter to know when to change it.

I like to change my sediment filter before pressure drops, they are cheap and protect the other filters

The way I'm planning on using the di resin is 2 clear canisters, once the first one changes colour and the second one starts changing, move the second one to the front and refill the first one and put it in the back. Tds meter will confirm all is well and you don't have to wait until something shows up on the Tds meter to know to change it. Besides you say you like to visually watch your sediment filter, which is just an indicator like the colour changing resin, it's the same principle.

I am just saying lots of people like the visual indicators first thats why people like the clear, also ive had 3 of the white canisters crack before and had a nice flood and they were only 2 years old. My clear ones are 10 years old and running great still.
