Should I get a 75 or a 90g tank?

I am upgrading to a larger tank. My tank right now is a 46 bowfront. I like the bowfronts but they make photo taking very hard due to the bow. I was going to go with a 120, but my room this is going in will not allow it. So with that being said, I like the foot print of the 75 but wonder if the 90 is the better bang for the buck? I wish the 90 was deeper front to back vs top to bottom against the 75. But you can't have everything.

Right now I will be moving all my existing corals and LR (roughly 60lbs or LR) into the new tank and allow more swimming room and room for the corals to grow out more...

I am also going to very hard find this tank in a true corner type overflow. I think the perfecto tanks are corner overflows.

Anyone able to share any photos of their 75g's or 90 gallon tanks so I can get a good judgement? I also would love to go with a larger stand with more room for the sump and reactors, but I think the tank would look funny on a larger stand? Any ideas....

Thanks for your time and possible photos!

Go with the 120 - you'll only lose inches in your room and you'll be happier in the long run with the 120. jmo

Agree with Alan. If the 120 just wont work - go with the 90. Benefits: your corals will have more long term growing room. You won't likely have corals growing out the surface as soon as you would in the 75. You will have more volume. Of course you'll want to take care of your filtration need accordingly, but more volume lends to a more stable environment. The more gradual any change occurs, the more comfortable the life in the environment will be.
Drawbacks: Not major, but you may need to consider light penetration because of the added depth. You may want to consider the need to move, filter, heat, etc. more water volume.
Lastly, if the 120 really wont work, I'm wondering how you are considering a larger stand footprint? Above all else, consider you will likely never hear any reefer say they took too much time or put too much energy into planning for an upgrade! Weigh every option and keep getting feedback. Good luck!

I would take the 90 over the 75 if both fit into your room - more watervolume, more room for corals and live rock. I would not use tall tanks since depth is more important. I have a 30" high tank and the cleaning/ reaching the bottom or back of the tank is a challenge.

The size isn't as important as the weight. I can't brace the floor as my basement is finished. So I am afraid that is why the 120 is totally out. To heavy with sump and such.

I will go today and look at tanks and make a decision...
Thanks!
