Should I Get an Anemone?

I'm in the planning stages of a 40g soft coral tank and I would really like to have a pair of clowns with an RBTA. With it being a smaller tank would it be safe to have other fish in the tank? Right now my fish list is:

Clownfish Pair
Gold head sleeper goby
Valentini puffer (i know, not totally reef safe)

I would not want to put my other fish at risk of being eaten if the tank is too small.

That doesn't sound unreasonable to me. Just wait until your tank ages for a while for the anemone. I have tried to have some after 3 months but they don't seem to do good.

That fish list is fine, that puffer is a cool fish and I'm thinking about getting one. You can add more than what you have said in your list if you find something you really want.

If you are getting an RBTA make sure you get a fish that will be hosted by the nem. Percula and Ocellaris are not natural to the RBTA. Maroon, Clarkii's, skunks and tomato's will more than likely jump in. Yes there are some Perculas and Ocillaris that do call BTA's home but it doesn't happen as often as some of us would like LOL I've got a Percula pair and 4 BTA's they don't pay them any attention. :hammer:

OH and BTA's don't eat fish! Unless they are dead. The sting of the BTA is very minimal also. My Cherub Angel is constantly touching my BTA's
