Should I move corals

I'd screen and cut back the phot cycle. When I moved from 175W to 250W DE (of course, I went a few steps further and did AB 10K's, which blast some serious light), I didn;t screen, but it took me about three months to bring my photo cycle from 3 hours a day to full cycle (10 on MH, 12 on actinics), and I still burned coral. I've never had a bulb put out as much as the AB 10K's (DE's), though. Those bulbs necessitated a separate LPS tank:D. Gotta love reefer justifications.

Mine are mogules. I have 20k's right now and am going to 14k's. Of course 175w to 250w. I also have a 400w MH fixture I was wanting to put on my 75gal. It has PC's right now. So what are your thoughts there. I mostly have LPS and softies. Not much into SPS's. I like movement. I may save the 400w for the frag tanks I am building in the back room and just move the 175's to to the75 gal. So many opptions so little tanks.lol I still want one of those clams you had at the swap Gary. I talked to you a little bit about them. I think one would look good in my 125 which is where the light change is fixing to happen. Just waiting on UPS.

Going from 20K's to 14K's can be a big step, too, so 20K 175's to 14K 250's, you'll want to take slowly. 400W over a softie only tank is going to be overkill, esp a 75, IMO. I'd move the 175's to the 75 softie tank and see what you think. I'm running 175W 14K Ushio's over a 120 with softies and LPS and they all seem to do great. T5's are another way to go. I've burned a number of corals with T5's, too, though.

What I had thought about was useing what I have on hand. Which is 2x175 a 400w MH with 65w pc assist and a 2x250MH. I do have some pc's on hand that I could put back on the 75. One is on my frag tank.
