Shouldn't have gone on vacation!!!!

I guess I should consider myself lucky that the only thing I lost while I was gone on vacation was my mantis shrimp. Unfortunately, I really liked him. He was probably one of my favorite pets, simply because he was so unique. The students liked him a lot.

Anyway, I won't be able to replace him, but I will be looking for mantis shrimp (1 or 2), so if anyone has one they'd like to sell me, let me know.

Do you know how he died? We go on vacation quite a bit and all I've come home to(so far) is a horribly dirty tank.

Though now that I've said that.....

I was gone for two weeks and had a friend caring for the tanks. When I got back, he was in his burrow, bloated and covered in bacterial slime. I have no idea what happened.
