Just thought I would let you locals know about an incident that happened to me.Monday night after dinner I was taking a look under my tank at the sump level and noticed my Mag-12 pump which runs my skimmer leaking from a screw.I clean the impeller on all my pumps about every 6 months and the last time I did this I overtightened one of the screws on the mag and had to replace it with a self-tapping screw. It seemed to hold but I started to notice more and more salt creep around it and by chance I noticed it actually starting to leaking pretty good. This pump is plumbed thru a bulk head so it sits outside my sump.Well frantically I started calling local stores by me to see who had a comparable pump to the mag-12.Did not want another as I was turned off by the design.3 stores had the coralife turbo-sea fan cooled 1090 in stock.Living sea in Park ridge wanted $199,Ocean design in Chicago wanted $199.Then I called Jimmy at Coral Reef and told him of my situation. He said to come by and then sold me the exact pump for $129 with the plumbing necessary to convert to the new size.He may not have the fanciest store but loyalty is worth my business.Just thought I would share this with you guys.
