I am getting my LR soon and was hoping some of you could post pics of your 37 gallon tanks so that I could get some ideas on how to pile the rock up. It does not necesarrily need to be a 37, just something that is more on the taller side, and does not have too much depth. THanks a lot guys!:D

Check out my gallery. I have a 37 gallon AGA with a DSB so the area is about the size of a an empty 29 gallon. I have an overflow and a sump. The tank is nice, but I am out of room already with 3 fish and about 20 coral. R

I just posted some pics in my Gallery.............

My 37 Oceanic..........Only up and running for approx 3 months now........since Feb 2006. Finally getting past some of the algea cycles, and battling bubble algea now.

Here is my "current"set-up

Approx 80 lbs Live rock..........its pretty much FULL ! (IMHO, its a little bit too much LR.........50-60 lbs would have been better).
450 Watts of lighting.........300 VHO and 150 DE Halide.
I made the custom canopy and retro'd the lighting.
Custom Made Lifereef overflow box.........From Jeff at Lifereef.
Using The "Herbies Ultra Quiet Siphon Overflow mod" ;) AND It IS SILENT.
I made the sump........10 Gallon with a filter sock,a few dividers and bubble traps. ( I tried a 5.5 gallon sump.........but it was just too small).
Tunze 9010 DOC Skimmer ..........Kicking butt !!!!
Phosban reactor, running Phosban.
2 Sea Swirls..........1/2 inch models
Tunze Master recirc. Pump1073.030 ........800 GPH.
Custom Modified Kalkwasser dosing pump.........no alarms or drip sensors.
Won Pro Digital Titanium Heater.
Kent Maxxima HI-S R/O filter for all water.
I thinks thats pretty much it.............

37 Gallon tanks are a great size to work with..........its exactly half of a 75 gallon........not just gallons but the measurements too. Everybody is hoping all over the Oceanic 30 Cube.......but its such an odd size.......only 20" wide. I wanted to have some real lighting choices and the 37 "cubish" is 24" wide........perfect. The 37 Oceanic is a bit harder to find than most other sizes. But well worth the search. Its not quite a nano.........but not quite a big tank either........I am not sure were exactly it falls, but I like mine.

Good luck seting your up when you get it ...........you will love the 37........its the perfect size!

Later...............Herbie

Great looking tank! I am thinking about going with 60 lbs of LR, because I want the front right area to be a little sandy area where I can maybe put a clam or an open brain coral. Thanks for going all-out with your response, very helpful and I really appreciate it.

i have a 37 cube, i don't have any good pics of it now cause of going through a nasty bout of cyano, but i can show you an earlier pic from right after I set it up to give you an idea how i piled up the rock:

actually most of it is all one big rock, but i've seen it where people piled up smaller rocks creating a similar structure.

Yay, I finally set up my reef last weekend and I aquascaped my rock. It comes closer to the glass on the sides and kind of curves back in the middle making a litttle "beach" area. I think it looks pretty decent, but I will have to post pics when I can get a hold of my sisters camera and you guys can tell me what you think.

Here is mine.......

Close-up.........

Hope they show up in the post.......trying to learn how to post pictures.......fingers crossed! Bad pictures, but you can get an idea how 80 lbs of Live Rock looks in a 37 !!!

37's are GREAT.........

Later.........Herbie
