Show me your 65 gallon tanks

i'm debatinng on to do this or not.....leaning toward ordering the tank locally. No rush, but if I order by Tuesday I can have it the next day. 65 seem to be popular in my city...they can't keep them in stock.

mine.... setup about 3 years with one move, no skimmer, 20g sump/fuge

Nice setup str8... but quick question... isn't that Regal gonna get WAY too big for a 65?? They grow to about a foot long, no??

later,

yea ive had him since he was the size of a quarter, no joke
yea, when he gets too big ill take him out, but hes happy as can be right now,
he gets on my nerves though, because hell eat EVERY piece of food i put in the tank, whether ive fed him enough or not, hell even pull out food from corals, so im not too fond of him now anyway
plus i just got a deal on a 120g so i need to just build a stand for that and he should have a new home if i plan on keeping him that is

I would go with a 75G over a 65G. The footprint is nicer and allows you to keep more. Or even better yet, a 90G, just because Im sure you will want to upgrade very fast from a 65.

Actually, I agree with Justin... if I didn't already have so much $$$ in the setup I have now, I'd save my money up and go with a 120 (48x24x24)... I bought this one about 9 months ago, and now I've got everything but test kits and Live Rock (tank has never seen water)... who knows, maybe I'll put it on Craig's List and start over LOL

already have 90. want to try a smaller system and debating whether to do this. space is important and I have the space for a 65

Todd and Str8,

how many pounds of rock do each of you have in your tank? Just trying to get an idea of volume to weight in this general size tank...

I know that I got 45 lbs from Foster and Smith, and then some extra pieces from an LFS, rough guess 15-25 lbs that I picked up from them. So I figure I have around 65 total in there.

Hey pf1130,
Nice looking tank... same question to you: How many pounds of live rock??

Do post a more current photo when you get a chance... would love to see the progress

later
