I have just bought a JBJ 12 gallon nano cube for my office. I want to have a nice little tank here to show the co-workers but i dont want to spend 300-400 dollars for a light. I have a nice tank at home with plenty of light and money put into it. this is more just for fun. So i want to see what other people have done with thier 12 gallon DX tanks with stock lighting.

Thanks

BH, no pix available, but I keep lots of softies--mushrooms, zoos, a bed of xenia up high, and a torch and candycane--all do great. I just added my first hard coral--~2 weeks, seems to be healthy, but that's early.
I think you can pretty much keep anything you want with possible exception of SPS and clams--but some people on this forum note that they keep them with stock lighting.
PS--can someone send instructions on how to post from photobucket? I once knew, but....

my nano isn't stock. i upgraded to 96watts of light. it has GBTA, candy cane, zoa's, xenia, cabbage coral, polyps i think that is it.

My 24G early on. The 24 is modified with a SQWD. You can see the second return near the midddle of the picture (gray tube). It gives a nice alternating flow.

Here's my stock 12 gallon DX journal.

I've changed things like the salt I was using, etc., but it does well with no modifications.
