show me your tank stand

I need to either make or acquire a stand for a 55gal tank (the type from the BX). I'd like to see pictures of what you have.

I have access to 4x4s, plywood used as shoring (not pretty but it'll work!) and possibly 2x4s so I can make one if I need to... but would like to see what all you guys have done.

I have 4x4's on my stand with metal supports to reinforce. It was definitely over kill now that I look at it. You definitely can get away with 2x2's for your tank. My tank doesn't even weigh as much as my tank! I know I just moved to a new tower last week! Just make sure to use braces. The more area touching the ground the better. It will spread the weight evenly.

I picked up some 1 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 5' boards... what do you guys think?
they look like 2x4s that had been ripped.

Have you seen lionel's stand? Its great for tank maintenance, its probably what I will end up doing.

Think "open" when you build your stand. The more space you build the better. It can be strong without taking alot of room or be annoying with being in your way.
