you shouldnt have to feed him anything he will grab any extra food that gets to the bottom of the tank. And just do normal water changes and he shouldn't need anything else
Adding iodine is unnecessary and unless you are testing for it, could cause trouble down the road. As stated earlier, proper water changes are all that is needed.
