Shutting off CA reactor???

I need to do some repair work on my CA reactor which wasnt really working efficiently for the past few months. unfortunately, im gone for vacation for few weeks. I was wondering if its ok to shut off my reactor for 2 weeks. Would it drastically affect my CA and Alk levels?

i also just did 30% water change before leaving soon.

I see from your info that you have sps and clams. IMO just one clam is enough to drop your calcium within a couple of days. I know I had problems when I added my crocea and things just got even worse after I added my squamosa, running kalk for autotopoff was just not enough anymore so I invested in a reactor. I think it'd be better if you can find someone to babysit your tank. If you don't trust someone else to dose 2 part, then at least run the kalk reactor for topoff, it'll hold things over for a while.

I know what you're going through, I'm planning for my 2 week vacation next year and already am trying to automate as much as possible..the worst is feeding.

I had an issue a while back with my reactor. I was keeping my PH at a high of 8.2 When I disconnected the reactor, my PH leveled off at a high of 8.53. I lost a clam and a few other things started to not look so good. I attribute it to the PH swing and drop of calcium.

i actually dont have clams anymore. most are all LPS(frogspwan, brain, torch etc) but do have some Large Monti caps (two 12" caps, bunch of frags) and an acro nana colony. still think CA level would drop fast???

the reactor was pretty much not working for couple months now but i didnt lose that many corals(except for some sps bleaching).

i plan to have someone come by once/week to add some part 2.
hope this is enough.

did anyone buy the reactor from Hawkdl?? mine is from him and the rubber that connects to bottom hole for circulation pump is lose and i cant get it to tighten up. still too late to fix cuz im leaving tonight.

any input would be appreciated since i still have internet access there.
