Shy Sexy shrimp

Got 3 sexy shrimp in my 36 gallon bowfront last week. They have been pretty hard to spot so far.

Tank is set up as a FOWLR right now but waiting on lighting and a skimmer to go full reef.

Inhabitants are as follows:
2 osc clowns (b&w, snowflake)
1 YWG
1 Hi fin Banded (coming out of the tank soon)
2 cleaner shrimp
3 sexies

These guys have hardly been out at all. are they normally reclusive? just getting used to the tank? shy because there aren't any corals for them to play in?

They're always out in the open if a host coral is provided. Otherwise they will hide.

+1. I have 8 sexy shrimp and they love my BTA. They are always on it or around it. Some of my peppermint shrimp like to hang out around the anemone too.

They need to feel safe or they will hide.

is there any coral that I could get before I update my lighting that they would like?

Pretty much anything really. Mushrooms and yellow polyps kept mine happy when I had smaller nanos.


Once you place the coral in the tank they'll all be on it and stay on it.

mine where shy the first few weeks, now they are almost always out...

sexy shrimp are awsome. just park a nem out front and they will dance around it all the time.
