Shy Snails

I just purchased some new snails but can't get them to "take". They have been sitting on a rock and will not come out of thier shells.

H20 parameters are all fine. Fish, Corals (LPS, SPS, Softies, Polyps) and crabs are all doing just fine.

Any suggestions?

Have you acclimated them slowly?

I normally place my snails on my big magnet cleaner so that the bottom of their shell are wet but not submerged. I let them find their way into the water on their own. If they are too big to sit on my magnet cleaner comfortably, I acclimate them in a container slowly.

Snails can be sensitive to a high nitrate level. If your snails keep dying, I'd have the water parameters double-checked.
