Sicce Pump

Hello,

Seems like the hot new pump for skimmers is the Sicce. Are you planning on carrying them anytime in the near future? Also, have you gotten any feedback on the new Icecap MH bulbs?

Hi,

We currently do not have any suppliers that offer the pump to us.

I have heard of some problems with them though, overheating, not starting etc. We have never had the chance to test one out though.

ON the Icecaps, we have sold a few, but no customer feedback yet. We haven't had a chance to put one in our coral systems yet.

I heard Sanjay scores were pretty decent on them.

Jason: you have had them when you carried the ATI Bubblemasters.

I can say for sure that they have zero heating issues as long as they are submerged. The pumps must always be submerged. Period.

The only startup issue has to do with how the mesh and air intake are done. Obviously, these pumps if not purchased with a skimmer must be DIY modded. And, if not modded properly, they can have poor performance issues.

But that goes for any DIY equipment, like the maxijet mods before mass production of those kits came out.

They are terrific skimmer pumps though, I can tell you that. Best I've used that's for sure.

I hate to hound you but have you found out if you are going to be able to supply the Sicce pumps?

Sorry, not yet. We contacted the manufacture, but they haven't responded yet. It looks like a pretty big company and probably aquarium trade is only 1% if that of there product line. So have a feeling they might not be real responsive.
