Sifting sandstar

Hi I'm a beginner with a 75 gallon tank. I was wondering how hard sifting stars are, what they eat, and how well they clean the sand

Serpent and brittle stars are ok, but brtttles have been know to take smaller fish. A conch is a very good option. They cruse the bottom and do a great job.

I have kept one for over 2 years in my 60 cube with a shallow sand bed. If the tank is mature you might be ok, but don't try it if you have a newer tank. The star will eat some beneficial organisms in your tank, but the benefits outweighed the problems for me.
