Sigh.. Partical board stand...

I have a 65gal AGA that i picked up the other day including a black stand from AGA. Here is the stand -

The box the stand came in says 30BR, 40BR, 50, 65.

Call me paranoid but im concerned with two things.....
1. is a partical board stand really strong enough for a 65 gal with LR and corals?. (Ive had a flood in the past and the last thing i want is the stand to fall apart.)

2. Wouldn't having a sump in a partical board stand cause the stand to eventually warp and break?. My brother recommended me to put a coat of lacquer inside the stand and it should be all good.

I guess the stand should be perfectly fine considering its a AGA stand and a AGA tank. Plus the combination of the stand and tank where shipped by AGA. I just thought id come on here and get a piece of mind.. Thanks!.

I posted to the other thread.

The stand will hold up under the load just fine. If the inside is unfinished, then a few coats of quality polyurethane will help protect it.

You may also want to consider a grill on one side of the back and a small fan on the other... unless the back is open.

DO not put outlet strips in the stand. Only use commercial grade outlet strips, not the home depot or wal-mart "10,000 billion volt" surge protectors. They are death traps (fire), UL LISTED OR NOT!!!! Always use drip loops. Always postion the outlet strips so there is NO WAY water can drip into it. Always use "child protectors" to keep unwanted moisture and salt creep from the unused postions (and kids fingers out of course).
