has anybody even used this lens for macro shots and what do you think of it?

I had the NON APO version and was not real impressed. It did 1:2 at best. The lens was not as crisp as I would have liked between 200-300 so I returned it and got the Nikon version (no macro) and will simply save up for a 105 micro.
