Has anyone here have experience with Keith Grandt @ Signature Aquariums? If so, what's the build quality compared to Leemar or Visio..

Thoughts will be greatly appreciated...

I have seen some of the tanks he was working on when he used to build in the back of Dennis's shop. Very nice tanks for sure. I'm waiting on a price quote from him on a possible up grade for me

It is like buying fine jewelry. I would take a Keith grant over Visio or lee mar. It will cost you. I had a $1900 quote for a 60x30x24" high many years ago for a rimless starfire with a glass center overflow. Pricey but worth it. I ended up getting an acrylic 300 gallon for $1500 because I was paying mortgage on a second home. Now If I wanted a rimless starfire I would go that route.

Have seen his tanks in person and the quality is unmatched by others. He has the time to build the tanks and it shows. You will not be disappointed.

My cube is a K.Grandt and I am very happy with it :)

Was the cost reasonable? Compared to other brands out there....Is his craftsmanship that good, where you can throw the warranty out the window?

I just checked your build thread, your tank is awesome btw!!

Thanks :) I'm not sure if the cost was reasonable. I never got any other quotes from other fish tank manufacturers. However, the Marineland DD 150 Cube that is also 36x36 is about 30% cheaper, but the K.Grandt tank uses thicker glass with beveled edges and in my opinion, looks more high end. My recommendation, go check him out. I'm sure he is building an aquarium as we speak and wouldn't mind if you came and looked at his work.

My Keith Grandt 100 gallon starphire rimless is very nice, it's been going strong since 2009. If he's currently building tanks, I recommend him- buy local!

I have not seen a bad tank made by Keith Yet but I've only seen 6 or so.
But worth the money I would buy one of his be for an ELOS FWIW

I received my quote from Keith and it didn't look pretty, much higher then what John quoted me for a Visio Tank with same dimensions. I believe it may be heavily from the shipping cost and not having buying volumes like major aquarium manufactures out there for the glass, I know most get their glass from the same source.

72x32x30 300g it came out to be about $13.50 per gallon. I might just get a Marineland 300DD w/ starphire front for less then half that with a life time warranty.

Was looking at the marineland also, but I think there warranty only covers there tank if it's on there stand? Could be wrong though. There stands are to short for me. The size you want is close to the same size as what I want. 84x30x24

Hmm, I have to look into that.. About the warranty with stand only. Don't want their stand either, it's pretty short at 28"

Here is the answer I got from Marineland regarding warranty with a different stand, I'm just going to get a custom stand , and have the plans approved before I buy it.

"Because all of our stands have been tested and verified that they can hold that much weight. It is not just the strength of the material, but how the stand distributes the weight of the tank, and where it has contact with the tank. On an unapproved custom stand, you get only a one year warranty. If you want the stand to be approved, you have to send the stand design, and pictures of the built stand in to us. We have the engineer look at them, and go with his findings. BREX"
