Silicone sticking out of edges of new glass tank? Also how to properly inspect

Hi all

I was wondering how to go about inspecting a new glass tank before purchasing it. I know to check the seams, check for chips, scratches etc- but what exactly am I looking for? Is there anything that may seem like something small, but could end up being serious I should be looking to check for? Also, if silicone is coming out of the edges on the outside is this safe/ normal? If there are bubbles in the silicone is this normal/safe?

Thank you

Bubbles in the joints between seams could lead to a leak later. Silicone protruding past glass face on outside is not an issue. You can just cut if off with a sharp razor blade if it bothers you.

You definitely don't want to see pockets or air bubbles in the silicone those are weak spots

Here is the pic

most mass produced tanks will look this way, the last 2 pics look like normal variances, 1st one for sure, hard to tell on second.
