Simulated thunderstorm mode

I am not sure I want to wake up to a thunderstorm auto topoff in the middle of the night.....no wait, a stroke of genius....tie your Dave Brown weather radio into your controller and have it come on to mimic the weather outside. Forget that horrible brannnnkkkk, brannnkkkkk noise that comes out of that annoying thing. When the weather gets bad, just look at your aquarium to see what it going on...it can simulate a thunderstorm with lighting and ramp up your wave makers for windy conditions.....and then if it really gets bad it can override your auto top off and simulate a flood........no wait, that's probably not a good idea.........never mind.

Wow. A Dave Brown reference. And on Ron Childers' birthday even.... (And He's aClub Member!) Tsk, tsk.

Okay seriously:
What's the benefit?? Wouldn't that normally "spook" the Fish? I like the alternate ATO method, which reminds me.... I need to go "make water"....

My apologies to Ron and a belated happy birthday.....maybe if we had meetings I would know that....:D

However, I worked with Dave as a cameraman during college at WMC-TV so his name came to mind first, but certainly no disrespect to our fellow club member. I actually did the live Saturday morning pro wrestling (yes Dave was an announcer) and the 5 and 10 o'clock news (weatherman) for a couple of years. Even got to work with Myron Lowery (news anchor), Jerry Lawler, Jimmy Hart and some other wrestling characters. My fun story on the current anchor was Joe Burch was just cutting his teeth as a rookie, and had to fill in for Jarvis Greer (Jarvis was weekend only as Big Jack was still there). Joe was practicing just before we went live by reading his script from the teleprompter and was talking about a fishing rodeo and pronouced the fish crappie just as it looks ("crap" pie), not "croppie" as it is pronouced. I leaned around the camera and told him that wasn't how it was pronouced, and that might cause a few chuckles if he didn't get it right (or at least might not enhance his image as a sportcaster with the fishing community). He survived the night, but I don't think he ever did the sports again.....for you Memphis short timers that was over 20 years ago.

.....now back to the topic...Yes, I could do without the lighting, but I like the idea of the sounds from the falling water...(not sure that would be practical in most aquarium settings unless you have about eight feet of tile all the way around as it would splash like crazy).

jason: thank you for noticing.....and repeatedly pointing that out for me...what are friends for unh? BTW my friends call me Kerry, so you can call me Mr. Rudolph.:fun2:

Well I don't think you can qualify me as a celeb since I was one the wrong end of the camera. But, on my last day they did bring me onto the set to say goodbye....I guess that was my five minutes (more like 15 seconds so I still have some left over) of fame...I think my parents still have that on video...lol

....but I did appreciate the chaeto from you...thx again...

....I take that back, I think my parents have a video of me on Magicland (magic show on WMC-TV) when I was around kindergarten age, so maybe I am a celeb...

....and no Jason, neither George Washington nor your great grandfather were sitting next to me, and the magician did not pull a baby dinosaur out of his hat...
