I have a single bartlett's anthias and I'd like to add a lyretail or possibly a square. Will they get along?
single anthias of different species in the same tank?

I think the lyretail would get along with the Bartlett's. I have a lyretail and a bicolor and both get along just fine.

While I am at it... I've heard the red lyretails from the Maldives don't retain their color. Any experiences?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but my bicolor is one tough fish, he bullies all the other anthias, ate 2 clown gobies & effectively killed a blackcap basslet
If I didn't have 6 anthias for him to push around, he might be pretty rough on just one. Lyretails are supposed to be aggressive for anthias, too so maybe those two are well matched.
Just a thought to consider, not the last word or anything.

As far as I have seen, P. squamipinnis is one of the most aggressive common Anthiine species.

I've seen the interspecific aggression, but will two anthias of different species be any more agressive toward each other than to other fish?

t seems to me that the question is whether a Bartlett's and a squammi or a square will get along
I don't know about the square, but I would hesitate to put a squammi & a smaller anthias like a Bartlet's in together alone as the squammi may spend all his energy aggravating the Bartlett's anthias
If you put 2 similarly matched anthias like bicolor and squammi, it could work out better similar to grouping aggressive fish they are tough enough to "take it" from each other - but might overpower more gentle fish
You could try it, maybe they''ll be buds - I wouldn't expect the Bartlett's would be murdered or anything and if the aggression got bad, you should have plenty of time to remove one of them

The resident bartletts is a mean bastard. He killed his two females. I'm actually kind of worried about him bullying the newcomer. We'll see...

Anything is possible.. & Bartlett's, though small, are certainly not known for being little sweety-pies
Please post to say how it worked out - pics are always appreciated, too
PS -- FWIW I have 3 dispars, 1 bicolor, 1 Cooper's, 1 stocky, & 1 tuka.
The bicolor is semi-tolerant of the Cooper's which yields to him. The 3 dispars think the bicolor is the giant & cruel "fish god" & the 2 in.stocky bides his time thinking, "One day I'll be big enough to swallow you whole"
