single dot on clown. help!

there is one single dot on my clownfish. it is located on the left pelvic fin.it is raised above the fin and is very small. the rest of the fish is very healthy. the fish is also fighting with my other clown(for dominance i suppose) it seems to take the most snipps and is the bigger fish but when i gets close to my other clown it twitches alot. should i wait it out or treat it and if i treat it how will i do so. thanks

I would say if it's one spot, wait it out. Particularly if you had quarantined the fish to begin with.

One spot of ich won't kill the fish, next life cycle that one spot might be 100. And then you'll know. But IMO you still have time.

It maybe a good time to think about a hospital setup or qt system if you haven't finished stocking the tank.

It's probably ich . Just in case take a really close look. Ich looks like a small grain of table salt buried just under the surface of the scales or in the fins. It looks a little bit like a white head (sorry for the gross comparison).

If it's just one cyst it'll soon be 20 like jcw said. I'm going to give his advice a +1. See what happens. Ich isn't necessarily a death sentence so your fish will probably be ok. If you see more spots on your fish or any that appear on the other clown, yank 'em both and put them in QT. I recommend treating in hyposaline conditions for 10-12 weeks. I've done this twice and have never lost a fish. It's safer than treating with copper but also a much longer treatment.

On the fighting question. Are these two clowns both juvis of the same species and were they in the same tank when you bought them?

they are both juvenile but the bigger one has got the other one by a month or two the original one that i got with the other clown died a few days after i took him back to the store for a check up. and the spot does not look like it is below the surface of his scales

As long as they are juvis of the same species, expect some squabbling as they mature. They will almost always settle down and become a mated pair. If different species, a Percula & an Ocellaris for instance, will very seldom work. Adult clowns of different species will not tolerate each other.
