So I quarantined a new Powder Brown Tang for 4 weeks like a good soul. Looked great the whole time. Ate great. No problems. I carefully matched the Q tank water to the main tank water over a period of time before moving him. I gave him one last look-see then moved him yesterday.
Within an hour in the main tank I noticed what looked like a white spot near his cheek. Just one. Like a grain of salt. He's had the usual struggles with the previous inhabitants, a little chasing here and there but nothing serious. Could Ich present itself that rapidly? I looked at him this morning and the spot is still there. No others. He's eating very well, and behaving normally. No scratching or flashing.
I've not had any experiences with Ich. Is a single spot common? Or could this be something else?
