Sinularia Dying i think!!

Hi,

I am under the impression that this is a Sinularia.
So if i am incorrect in this assumption please feel free to correct me.

We have had this coral for about a year, but over the last month it has these little black bits appearing on the tips. It looks like it is very slowly dying but i am unable to find any info about this issue.

Can anyone enlighten me as to if i am doing something wrong or if this is normal.

I have this coral sitting high in the tank under 4 T5 lights.
It is a 165Lt tank.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Oh wow, that's really wierd. I'm no coral illness guru, so I'd defiantly wait for someone elses opinions, but if its a softy like that and I was in your situation, I would clip the black parts and dying bits off of the tips, hoping it wouldn't spread. I know people do that for SPS that are going through RTN. I'm going to follow along to see what others say.

Yea looks like a variant of sinularia with some minor tissue necrosis. Clean off the black necrotic tissue and place the coral in some medium to high flow.

That's what i was thinking. The black bits fall off easily enough, and i moved it last week up higher in the tank.
I hope this helps. Seems to have slightly less black now, but will have to wait and see.
Thanks guys.
