Six Line Wrasse & Disease

I'm wanting to pick up a six line wrasse at my LFS tommorrow and need to know what diseases they are known to get if any/ how disease resistant are they?

How long do I need to QT?

I have had a 6-line on two occasions and they were both bullet proof, but eventually became very aggressive to any and all newcomers.

So if he looks healthy/spotless would it be ok to put him in my DT. Currently I have a Convict tang in my DT, a yellow tang in QT and plan on adding a mated pair of black onyx clowns, a mandarin (once pods increase more), and dwarf angel (after adding all my corals).

If at any point the six line becomes aggressive could I just put him in QT for a few weeks and then put him back into the DT?

You could add him to the DT, although there is a chance he may be carrying other types of disease. I rarely QT unless it is an Angel or Tang; I usually add wrasse directly to the system after a quick FW dip or formalin bath.

You can always remove the wrasse if it becomes aggressive, but good luck catching him. Easiest way is to wait until it goes to sleep in a rock, and remove the whole thing to your QT. My last one killed a false perc. I have a bigger tank now so I will probably add another one, they are a really cool fish to watch.

Agree they are bullet proof. My tank got a bad case of ich. That was the only fish in there that didn't get any. Its great to watch that fish swim around. The only fish my sixline messes with is a yellow tail damsel.

thanks for the advice. which is safer, formalin bath or fw dip? I did a fw dip on a damsel once (first fish I ever tried to keep over 2 yrs ago) and he only lived for another few days, so I haven't done one since. I also have never done a foramlin bath.
