Hello all.. I am upgrading my addiction from a 120g to a 210g with about 100g sump / fuge area. I plan a mixed reef with lps, sps, softies and a fair amount of fish.
The reason I'm looking for advice is because of all the variables when it comes to skimmers. I have been looking into the sro-3000 which coralvue says is good up to 300g. But I wonder how realistic that recommendation is and whether I should move up to the sro-5000. My feeling is that the 3000 would be sufficient because some of my water volume will be taken up by sand and rocks. So my thinking is that my actual total water volume will be ~270g.
So would the sro-3000 be enough or would I be better off over-skimming with the 5000? Thanks
