I keep my water level 1/4" above the base of the collection cup.... looking through the collection cup. and then empty it every 1 to 2 days. You should also definately consider the gate valve mod to control the water level.... well worth it and much easier than that stupid tube and sponges

I'll try and find a link to that mod. I was wondering what the sponges do? Are they supposed to be under water, above water? Off to look for a how to on that mod.

never used the sponges... I think they are to slow the water down to keep it from splashing as the water comes out

you could buy most of the parts at HD.... it just very hard to find the gate valves... they're like $20+ plus shipping
