Skimmer help

I'm going to buy my equipment at Drs. FosterandSmith. Which skimmer is better the Typhoon or the SeaClone?

Neither are very good skimmers. What is your budget and tank size? I'm assuming you need a hang-on skimmer?

I have a 29 gal and need something under $100.

On that budget I would look into a Tunze 9002. They are internal skimmers and cost around $135.

Do not spend your money on those skimmers, you'll only end up junking them down the road. Andrew made a good recommendation and would probably be my choice. Do you have a sump or need an HOB?

The dimensions of the Tunze 9002 is only L4.9 x W2.1 x H13.3 in.

IME Before I got my seaclone 100, I didn't think it would work (because of others' biases as well as my own). But after having tried it myself, I have had luck with it. Then again I have it on a 10gal. What size tank are you putting it on? How will you be stocking the tank? Granted the Seaclone 100 is probably not the best, but it works for me.\

I know a lot of people have been happy with the CPR bakpak skimmer for about $130.00. You could also keep an eye on the used dry goods selling forum. Always good deals there.

I have a seaclone 100 on my 55 gal...... It does take some adjusting, but I think it works pretty good......
