I have a psk-75 on my reef and with little maintenance it has been a great bang-for-the-buck skimmer, never cranky and always pulling some decent skim. So I figure when I started up my 125G I'd get a psk-200 as I was planning bigger/messier fish. The mag drive was warped and cracked both the needlewheels supplied. So I go into my LFS and after talking awhile they hook me up with an Eshopps 200 cone as an EXCHANGE but I cant get the darn thing to skim. Dont worry there is stuff to skim, my nitrates keep climbing. With the floodgate or what have you cranked right open it produces skim that is basically cloudy water when it occasionally feels like it. It is in 7" of water, tried deeper a while back and it violently overflowed consistently at maybe 11". The venturi connections and pump intake are all clear, everything looks just fine... It is really making me mad, any ideas?
Long story short- the FOWLR set-up is in hyposailinity right now, I have been having this issue since I got the skimmer (long before the hyposalinity began).
