skimmer seems to be putting out wayyyy to many micro bubbles out of the drain....what can I do to help prevent that? I think it is a main cause of micro bubbles in our tank....

Is this worse than usual? It could be related to all of the epoxy stick you used yesterday.

Gflat or Fishdoc may have pointers for how to tweak the MRC.

You may need to perform the U tube mod. When I ran mine in sump I had to. It easy and doesn't take much. You basically come out of the bottom of the beckett in the box with a piece of pvc (1" I think) then you need a 1" to 1 1/2" reducer, then 1 1/2" PVC, then a 1 1/2" 90, then a piece of 1 1/2" pvc , then another 90 and then a little piece to direct the water up the reaction tube. Just slip fit everything a don't glue anything. Double check the sizes cause I could be off. Here are pics of the mod:

It's also covered extensively in this thread I just don't have time to find the exact page right now:

yes, it is the same....I think the bubbles have been coming out of the drain for some time and we have been switching where to have the drain. We put a piece of panty hose on the end of the drain and on the return back to the tank....took care of some of it for sure.....thanks Fishdoc, may go ahead and do this mod anyway because don't have anything to lose! Appreciate the help.....

The mod looks like this. Had to wrap the beckett side with electrical tape because it was slipping off of the bulkhead threads. works great. No bubbles
