I changed my thread title and reposted it. Its really more skimmer ideas I need than plumbing.

OK I am going to order a bubble blaster 10K on Monday. My plan is to try and make my H&S skimmer somewhat close to the SRO 8000 external. My first thought was just to figure out how to plumb it hanging from the side like the original design.

Right now I am thinking I will use 2 of the lower holes and set the pump on the ground as it is designed. That would also give me an area that was lower to shoot the bubbles in. To do that I am going to need a few more bends in the plumbing. I dont know how that will affect performance. I also noticed that the 8000 and others have a plate with holes above where the pump output is. My guess is this is to difuse the bubbles some. Is this plate important? Important enough to make my idea silly here? If you look at the 8000's design they are sending the bubbles in the very bottom..

That leads me to the last idea. Plug all the holes and drill new holes at the bottom so it is an exact duplicate. I will show a pic of the SRO first and then a big pic of the H&S for reference. This would obviously be harder. Is it worth the extra effort? I would need to find someone to drill it because I do not feel confident on doing that if it was critical to this working right..

Opinions please..
