Skimmer Noise

I wanted to know how people help silence the skimmer air intake noise. The sucking noise is quite loud with multiple pumps! The skimmer is a recirculating needle wheel skimmer with three genx 6000 pumps.

from other posts ive seen people use airline and a filmcan full of cotton with some holes punched in it.

I just tell mine to be quiet. Sometimes it works

Use a long piece of airline tubing (like 24 inches). That is what I did on mine and it worked like a champ.

The tubing that i currently use is about 36" long already, i came to the point to drilling ahole into the top of the collection cup and sliding it inside of it. THat helped muffle the sound alot, but i dont like the idea of recirculating the air in the skimmer.
