Skimmer or not in 'shroom only tank?

I have a 29g mushroom only tank that I'm running with a skimmer but I've heard people with no skimmers saying their shrooms seem really happy.

My tank is in my living room and the skimmer is noisey so I'm thinking of taking it down...

anyone out there running 'shrooms dominated tanks - how are you running your systems...skimmer or not?

I would take it down. Mushrooms thrive with clean or dirty water. You get to save on your electric and less noise as you said.

Mine has been up for 7+ yrs with no skimmer. You can see how many & what types of shrooms I have in the post right below this titled " how many mushrooms can you fit in a 90 gallon"

Skimmer is of know use to the mushrooms since it in enjoys the higher protein content of non skimmed water (aka food).
